The 10 Steps to MLM Success
1. Choose Network Marketing
Every process has to being somewhere, and network marketing and building MLM downlines is no different. Its important that anyone who decides to go into MLM lead generating and multi level marketing online truly understands the concept of network marketing.

It's not enough that someone wants to make money at home. MLM women need to understand that network marketing is sales, is time consuming, and is not a form of instant gratification.

This is a real business that is being built, and as such, requires real business tactics. Those who are uncomfortable with the concept of selling need to steer clear of the MLM industry.

2. Acquire Business Skills
If you want to truly change your life by starting a business in the MLM industry, you need to actually start a business, not a hobby. Your business is not something you do when it is convenient, when it sounds like a good idea, or when you are looking to impress your peers. It is something you give of yourself every day; something you sacrifice other areas of your life to build, and something you believe in. It is not always fun and it cannot be a hobby. Most people do not have a clue as to how to go into business for themselves. They simply do not know where to start. It doesn't matter if we are talking a traditional business or one focused on multi level marketing. It takes discipline and a clear sense of direction to build a successful MLM business. You have to know it takes time and work, it won't happen overnight, and you have to be confident that if you just keep working at it, it will happen. It can be frustrating, spending day after day, week after week, month after month plugging away with little results. But if you are doing what you should be doing, and your progress is consistently increasing, then determination will win out in the end. If you haven't done so already, I would recommend reading The Business of the 21st Century by Robert Kiyosaki. This book will give you a sense of direction and some key mental building blocks for successfully starting a business.

Here are a few other points to keep in mind as you start your business:

·  Set Up a Business Check with your state or county and figure out what you need to do to legally operate yourself as a business. Consult a tax advisor for your area. Find out whether you need a license, if you should file business taxes with your personal taxes, or if you should incorporate. See what will best meet your needs.

·  Open a Separate Bank Account Stay at home businesses need to be separate from personal needs. You need to be able to track what you are spending so that you can see if and when you are turning a profit.

·  Income Goes Back to Business When you start to make money with your business, it is important that you do not take all of that money back out of the business in order to fund personal things. Don't forget your business needs as well. Plan on keeping all money in the business for at least a year.

·  Work it Daily Set aside time each day to work your business. Treat it like a job. Plan on arriving on time and putting 100% of your effort into your business for whatever amount of time you have scheduled. Don't skip this, or try to cut it short. A business will not build itself. It is up to you to discipline yourself enough to build it.

·  Keep it Professional Remember that you are representing a business, and keep your work and your contacts professional. Respond promptly to phone calls and emails. When people deal with a business, they expect it to be professional. Don't let them down.

3. Educate Yourself on Multi Level Marketing Online
This field, building MLM downlines through multi level marketing online, is very different from anything you may have imagined both online and offline. It is important to take the time to educate yourself on this MLM lead generating market.

4. Don't Put All Your Eggs In One Basket
The 10 Steps to MLM Success, and network marketing in general encourages us to build grand stay at home mom businesses.

The companies want us to think about them, and their product 24/7.

They want our focus to be that one company and nothing more.

There are two good reasons why you don't want to do this:
·  The company may go belly-up I don't want to scare you, but it happens sometimes that MLM companies fail. I know a lot of people who have been involved in one company or another who have lost their entire source of income. I know others who inadvertently broke company rules and were”fired”, again, losing their entire source of income.
·  It takes time, and money to build a business The reality is that it will take you time and some money to build your MLM business. If your MLM company is your only stream of income, this can be difficult, especially in the early days.

MLM should never be your one single stream of income. No income source should be. (Including traditional jobs.) You need to make sure that you have other ways to make money so that if this stream runs dry, for one reason or another, you are still fine.

I hope this section does not sound too negative for you. My intention is to be practical and realistic. You can make it big in MLM, by building MLM downlines, but just like every avenue in life, something unforeseen can happen to change that. Better to know this from the beginning and plan appropriately.
5. Make a One Year Plan
Something that you have probably heard me say before is that you cannot build a profitable stay at home businesses overnight.

Plan on your first year being a year of learning and your second year you should be able to start earning a significant income. In other words plan for a learning curve when building a MLM business. Most people look at the MLM industry as a means to get rich quick without the work. Nothing can be further from the truth. You get out of it what you put in it.
You should start by setting a goal of where you want to be at the end of your first year. Make sure you keep your goal realistic. You will not likely be making six figures in a year's time unless you are positioned in the perfect place and the momentum is taking off. It just doesn't always work that way. Make your success goals attainable, realistic, but something you need to strive to reach.

For example, when I started this website, I set the following goals for myself:
"By the end of one year, I will be making more than $XXXX a month from my website. I will be in Alexa's top 500,000. I will have so many leads contacting me on a daily basis to join my opportunities that I will be able to give these leads to quality members of my team. I will be happy that my work is benefiting others and changing lives."

I do have other goals of where I want to be at that one year mark, but these goals are the ones that pertain to my MLM involvement.

After six months into that goal statement, I can honestly tell you that I am well on my way towards achieving, and surpassing those goals. I am obtaining online MLM success.

If you notice, I made it a point to say "I will" instead of "I hope". By changing the wording like that, you take a goal into reality. You are not hoping to be there, you are planning on being there.

After you get your statement together about what you would like to accomplish, then you need to put into writing what it is that you will be doing to accomplish those goals.
·  What do you need to do on a daily basis to reach your goals?
·  What tasks need to be accomplished weekly? Monthly?
·  What training will you need?
·  What milestones do you want to cross? When?

Be detailed in your plan.

My plan is way too detailed to include here, but it includes large and small tasks, and how I intend to accomplish them.

Once you have a plan in place, stick to it!
6. Pick A Company
Whereas this seems like the logical first thing to do, picking a company is not necessarily the top priority for stay at home mom businesses.

If you don't have the business skills, MLM education, and a detailed plan to work with for building MLM downlines, it doesn't matter in the least if you have picked a company to represent.

Many people will come to this section with a company already picked out.

That is fine, but if you don't currently have a company, then these tips may help you decide on one.

·  Follow Your Interests Its a lot easier to sell and promote a product or service that you find interesting. Into healthy living? Find a health and wellness company. Like candles? Join a candle MLM.
·  Explore the Company Once you have found a company or a series of companies that interest you, search for information about that company. Do they belong to any professional organizations? Are they debt free? How long have they been in business? How do other distributors feel about them? How about ex-distributors, why did they leave? What kinds of exclusions do their terms of service require? Are you allowed to be involved with more than one MLM company at the same time? Is this important to you?
·  Research the Program Find out how the program works. Do they require a minimum monthly purchase? Does this purchase requirement grow as you are building MLM downlines? If the company uses points, how much money do you really have to spend? Is the price of the main product reasonable for reselling? Or is their “wholesale” price more than you would normally pay for a comparable product retail?
·  Understand the Comp Plan The compensation plan for a company is very important when building MLM downlines. Many network marketing compensation plans are complex. Make sure you understand how much money you can potentially earn in a company. Do you need to enroll a certain number of distributors before you can earn commissions? Does your commission grow as your team grows?
·  Interview the Upline If you are new to MLM, or feel that you will need the help of your upline, it will be important to you to have a few conversations with the person who will sponsor you, and even possibly their sponsor as well. Do you find this person professional? Do they know what they are talking about? Do you feel comfortable learning from this person?
·  Sample the Product If you have not had a sample of the product or service, make sure that you take the time to do this before you join the program. The last thing you want is to find the perfect company for you and find out after joining that their product tastes terrible, or doesn't preform as promoted. If the person who is trying to recruit you is unwilling or unable to give (or sell) you a sample, find another sponsor.
7. Find Your Niche
Now that you have acquired the skills and education needed in order to succeed with stay at home mom businesses, and you have chosen your company and product for building MLM downlines, it is time to find your niche market. Determine what market, that you are already familiar with, will best be able to use your product or opportunity when multi level marketing online. Decide the best approach to take with this market to present your product or opportunity for building MLM downlines.

Talk to those in your niche market to better understand their wants and needs so that you can effectively market specifically to those wants and needs.
8. Create a Website
Using SiteBuildIt, create a Network Marketing website for building MLM downlines.

Why Site Build It?

No other web platform does what SiteBuildIt does for building MLM downlines.

SBI takes you from start to finish and shows you how to create a profitable website with multi level marketing online.

It is an all inclusive program that comes with everything you need to build a MLM lead generating site from scratch, without any previous knowledge or experience. Hosting is included.

Now, you may be thinking, "but my company provided a website for me."

Not good enough.

Your company provided a duplicated website, not a MLM lead generating website. You will not generate any traffic through search engines with that site, in fact, search engines HATE duplicated sites.

The goal with multi level marketing online is to have qualified leads coming to you for building MLM downlines, not you going out to hunt for leads. With a unique MLM lead generating website, your leads will get to know you, your products or opportunity, and then will make the decision to contact you for more
information.

Anyone who contacts you is honest-to-goodness interested in what you are providing.

So you create a content-based MLM lead generating website, either highlighting a problem that your product fixes, or a need that your opportunity fills.

You do not mention anything having to do with your MLM directly on the site. No company names, no links to your replicated site, nothing. Instead, you provide ways for your viewers to get into contact with you, and when they do, you provide them the additional information they are requesting and are building MLM downlines.

Another reason not to list your company: above, I mentioned that you shouldn't put all your eggs into one basket.

Why? Because the company can drop you or go out of business. My site is not about a particular company. It is about staying a stay at home mom. If I made a site completely about one company, and they went out of business, I'd be in trouble.

Instead, if something happens to my company, I can switch companies and continue my multi level marketing online.

9. Duplicate
Part of the 10 Steps to MLM Success and builing MLM downlines is duplication. All your actions need to be able to be duplicated by your team. You want to encourage your downline to do what you do, and to be successful. The more successful your downline is, the more successful you are. So when building MLM downlines, it is important to communicate clearly the amount of work and training involved in building a successful multi level marketing online business.

I have provided this website free to all those in network marketing. It does not matter what company you represent. If you follow the 10 Steps to MLM Success, bookmark this page and send your downline here for the same education. Or, better yet, if you've built your own website as suggested in Step #8, you can lead your downline there for your rendition of these 10 Steps to MLM Success for them to follow.

10. Just Do It
The final, and most important, step to creating a profitable multi level marketing online business and building MLM downlines is to just do it.

Take the information you have learned, the goals you have written and the enthusiasm you feel and put it to action building stay at home mom businesses.

Take those final steps and make your business happen, and stay a stay at home mom.

It is one thing to go through the planning stages, and another to start the business itself.

What happens if you fail?

Not much.

You've lost a little money and some time, but have gained valuable information, and know what not to do again for building MLM downlines.

One of my favorite sayings goes as follows:
"I'd rather have 1% of something than 100% of nothing."

The only way to have 1% of something is to do it. Work your plan. Take that initial -sometimes terrifying- step out of your comfort zone and into the rest of your life.

Those who have come before you will tell you, it can be done, and it all starts right now.

Its up to you to take that first step towards building MLM downlines, and multi level marketing online success.
