Happy New Year 2013

Hi Everyone and thanks for visiting my Blog!! Most people know me as a motivator and encourager BUT at times my messages can really cause one to take a closer look within and since this is a New Year I thought this would be a timely message! Many plans, resolutions and goals have been made for the New year which are amazing however if we fail to change our habits, mindsets and our way of life the same place we were in last year this time unfortunately could be the same place we will be in next year this same time! This post will focus on goal planning but also allow you to take a closer look within and answer some serious questions about yourself. Before I continue into the portion of setting goals and planning I decided to copy something I wrote on my facebook page on New Years Day!

And it reads….

Are you REALLY positioning yourself to RECEIVE??? I mean REALLY??? No... you don't have to answer this question on fb but be honest with (yourself).
How are you going to accomplish it?
What are you going to do to obtain it?
How are you going to go about getting it done?
Consider that which you are aligned with and will it produce the harvest you are expecting?

Just a few questions that's all....

Here are more questions I asked at the beginning of last year. Some may sound a bit redundant but here goes. What about “ME” needs to CHANGE so that my 2012 will CHANGE? Yes 2012 hence (last year) I asked these questions.

Do I have a clear written vision about where I am headed?
Do I believe that I can be Successful, have more, walk in greatness?
Do I procrastinate often?
Do I believe that I can be Successful, have more, walk in greatness?
How are my work habits? How much time am I going to spend working on me?
What kind of walls that I have up that needs coming down?
How much of my past do I need to let go so that I can be released to my future. Am I mean, am I angry?
Do I blame others for my failures?

As I study the lives of MANY **Successful Entrepreneurs** they exemplify many of the same characteristics, traits, and habits and they are as follow.

 There is ….
*A Clear Sense of Focus
*Drive
*Determination
*Belief
*Consistency
*Perseverance
*Well written Goals
*Well thought out plans
*HARDWORKING (They are NOT Lazy)
*Productive
*Prioritize
*Discipline
*Always growing and developing
*Developing PEOPLE Skills

Now Let’s Talk about Goals & Planning This is a List of specifics I got from Dani Johnson’s Website. Dani Johnson is a Millionaire who has an amazing story. If you are not familiar with her google her right now!

Business Growth

How will you grow your business, sales and profits this year? What activity(s) that you did last year yielded the largest revenue and profit? How can you replicate those high-yielding activities in the new year? What types of clients were most profitable, brought you new clients and grew your business? How can you attract more of those clients this year? What clients, relationships and/or activities cost you time and money last year that you should eliminate in the future? What new markets can you tap into the fastest in the new year that will bring you the most exposure and return on investment (ROI) the fastest? Is market sentiment shifting? Are there new concerns, fears and desires in your market in 2011 that deserve special attention? What areas of inefficiency in your organization should be improved or eliminated this year? What distractions, time vampires and “ADD” impulses can you eliminate? Can your sales process, message or presentation be improved? If so, what areas can you improve that will make the biggest, most immediate impact in your sales and/or results? Do you have an already existing successful sales message that can be replicated and/or duplicated into other mediums, formats and markets to create more exposure and profits? What can you do this new year to strategically reinvest back into your business either through advertising, product development or other resource acquisition to grow your brand and capture new clients? What can you do this next year to increase your influence with your marketplace, clients, employees, business associates, and other relationships?

Skill Sets

What are the new skills you should be learning and mastering this next year to keep your competitive edge in the marketplace? What skill sets did you start learning last year that generated results that need further and continued development? What skill sets should your team be acquiring to keep them at top performance, and how will they develop them? What are the Top 3 skills you have that bring you the most results and ROI on your time? How can you improve these even further this new year? What if all you did this new year was spend 80% of your time executing these three high value skill sets, how would that impact your growth? If you think of yourself as a “jack of all trades, master of none” – is this the year to become a master, a specialist of a particular high leverage skill? If so, which one and how will you do it?

Financial, Wealth, Investments

How much do you want to increase your net worth this year? Do you have debt you want to eliminate? How much? How much debt will you pay off each month – and how do you plan to do this? What kind of investments do you want to make for the new year? Should you be making preparations for more self-reliant living during an era of unstable political and economic certainty? If so, how and what is your plan? What if these hard times arrive sooner than you think? Are there steps you can take right now to insulate or prepare for hard times while still growing your business, and wealth? Is this the year to look at setting up any special entity(s) that may provide business, tax, estate, wealth protection benefits (LLC, Corporation, Trust, etc.)? Have you recruited a top notch accounting, financial and legal team yet, and are they ready and committed to your growth, prosperity and protection this new year? What negative financial habit should you personally eliminate this new year?

Family, Personal

What will you do this new year to love and cherish your spouse more each day? What changes can you make personally to become a better person and treat those most important in your life with more respect, honor and gratitude? How can you show your appreciation for your spouse and kids daily in a special way that lets them know they are most important in your life? What skills can you begin teaching your kids (or grandkids) that will give them a head start in life while also spending quality time with them? What unproductive habit or unconscious part of your daily/weekly routine should be eliminated or stopped this next year? How can you “steal time” away from your daily life, business, etc. and invest it into those closest to you? Is this the year to get control of the “urgent” things that just keep popping up and robbing you of time with your family? If so, how? Are you going to start dating your spouse this year and treating her/him like the rock star he or she is? (Secret tip: People will become whatever you dream them to be!)

Spiritual

Where will God be in your life this year? Do you want to get to know Him and hear His voice more in your daily life? If so, how is this going to happen? What will you do to invest in your relationship with the Lord, or is it just a one way street where you call on Him whenever you “need” Him? What can you do in your daily work life to honor and glorify Him? Will this be the year that you let Him be King in your life and what does that really mean anyway? Will you include Him in your personal and business decisions both big and small? Will this be the year that you “trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways, acknowledge Him and allow Him to direct your path”? How will you use money as a spiritual weapon this year? Will this be the year that the walls of separation between work and spiritual life come down and you allow God to invade the market place with you, as your business partner? What is it you fear or avoid most that you know you should be doing, that you will overcome by walking in faith with God’s help this new year? How will you stretch your faith this year?

In Summary:

The Top 3 That’s a lot of questions, but after you’re done you should have better insight into how you want the new year to work for you. Now, list the top three goals you have for this year – the three things you feel will have the biggest impact on your life and in the lives of those around you. These are three things you will focus on for 80 percent of the year. Write down these items and post them where you can see them daily. That’s a great start! Feel free to add some of your own thoughts and questions in the comments below. And once again – if you haven’t already, download your Strategic Goal Planning Worksheet PDF now! If you take the time to do this, and immediately begin walking in faith toward your goals, this year will be a much more fulfilling year of growth. A little bit of time invested now will have a dramatic effect on your results by next year.

So what are you waiting for? Get started!

Before we close I’d like to share a message I received from one of my colleagues.

"SET YOUR COURSE FOR 2013 BY NOT WHAT YOU DO TODAY, BUT HOW YOU THINK TODAY"...THERE'S NO NEW YEAR UNLESS YOU HAVE A NEW MIND! WELCOME TO 2013.
